We are incredibly proud to share some fantastic news from River Tees Secondary Academy. One of our talented learners has been crowned the winner of a local heat in the Rotary Young Writer competition!
This national competition, run by Rotary GB&I, is designed to encourage young people to express their creativity and imagination through writing. This year’s theme was ‘Wonderful Water’, inviting students across the country to explore this idea through stories or poetry. The competition is open to schools, community groups, and individuals from all over the UK, and the standard of entries is always incredibly high.
To win this round, beating entries from other schools across the Middlesbrough area, is no small feat. Our learner’s creative work not only captured the theme beautifully but also impressed the judges with its originality and engagement. As a reward for his efforts, he received a voucher and, even more excitingly, has now progressed to the next stage of the competition, representing both our Academy and our wider community.
This success is a wonderful example of how our learners thrive when given the opportunity, and the right environment, to shine. We are beyond proud of his achievement and look forward to seeing how far he can go in the competition!
